TRIQUETRAS

Triquetras are suspended on post earwires and hang approx 1 ½“ from the post where it goes through the ear. The widest part at the bottom is about 1 ¼“.

The Triquetra earrings are a little different from my other styles. I don't use any beads other than crystals to decorate the earwires, and they are more than just macrame. I macrame 2 parts...one for the Triquetra (3 pointed knot) and one for the circle around and through it. Then I make the Triquetra knot and join the circle to that. This is a traditional Celtic knot, and in the old ways its "meaning" would usually be said to be representative of the Maid, the Mother, & the Crone- the 3 phases of woman. In later years, the Church adopted it as the Holy Trinity knot.

I use my handmade spiral ear posts on most of these. If you prefer my standard earwires, please contact me prior to ordering. All my earwires are formed with Argentium Silver.

About Spiral Ear Posts –

Each one of these spiral posts are hand wound, hammered just a little, and then tumbled for several hours. Since they are individually made by hand, the pairs are as close as I can get them to matched, but there will be some variance in each. Posts are about 3/8”. Crystals are Swarovski 4 mm. (I use the Swarovski names for the colors as often as possible.)

If you want to order a pair with a specific color that I don’t have here, pls either use the contact form here on the site, or email me. You can also go to my Facebook page and msg me there. I have quite a few colors in Swarovski 4 mm.

SPECIAL CARE & FEEDING of Spirals

The entire ear post is one piece of wire. Care must be taken when removing it from your ear. I suggest hold the spiral flat against your ear with your forefinger of one hand and removing the back with your other hand (as opposed to holding the back and yanking the front.) If you find this awkward, then make SURE to pull evenly and gently on BOTH sides of the spiral when you are removing them so as to not bend the coil. It has been hammered lightly to discourage bending.

About the Macrame

All my beadwork is Micro-macramé and glass. Micro-macramé jewelry is lightweight, durable, and the cording is colorfast. I use an extremely tough 3ply nylon cord, and it's basically indestructible. What I tell my customers in my shops is this.... "I guarantee it for as long as you own it. You can swim, shower, sweat...most anything. Just don't light it on fire, or leave it on the dashboard of your car directly in the hot sun." Most people tend to think they won't be using fire near their ears or necks. :) If you DO leave them in a sunny, hot, tightly enclosed space, they may shrink up a little, but this only occasionally happens, and usually only on fringed pieces. In any case, just get in touch with me & I'll either give you instructions on fixing it, or tell you to send it to me for repair.

About Earwires:

I use Argentium Silver wire to form all my earwires. Argentium silver is a fairly new alloy of Sterling, retaining the traditional 92.5% silver...but replaces some of the copper in traditional Sterling with Germanium. The elimination of the copper, along with the addition of the germanium creates a lovely silver which is a little harder, resistant to "fire scale" and super tarnish resistant. It is far less likely to irritate those with sensitive skin. I can personally vouch for this, as I have always had a difficult time with any metals in my ears except gold, and I have absolutely no trouble with the Argentium Silver earwires.

 General:

The picture is of actual item(s) for sale. I do my best to show the actual colors; please remember that monitors display colors differently, and while the color looks true to me, it may vary a little depending on your computer's graphic card and/or settings on your monitor
